Šentvid pri Planini ( or (:sənˈtviːt pɾi plaˈniːni)) is a village east of Planina pri Sevnici in the Municipality of Šentjur in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the historical Styria region. The municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.〔(Šentjur municipal site )〕 ==Name== The name of the settlement was changed from ''Sveti Vid pri Planini'' (literally, 'Saint Vitus near Planina') to ''Šentvid pri Planini'' in 1955. The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.〔''Spremembe naselij 1948–95''. 1996.
